About Us

‘Atāna was born through the combination of our names and through this, our principles. Founded in 2023, Atāna Collective seeks to create spaces that are timeless and inspiring. We aspire to elevate the built environment to become more than a room but a place of meaning.’

Grounded by their architectural backgrounds and California upbringings, Ana and Natasha approach their projects with a sense of effortless refinement and practicality; providing simple and warm aesthetics with hints of playfulness. Natasha and Ana tend towards modern solutions while maintaining the integrity of a building’s identity.

As a team, they understand a successful project is about the collaboration of the whole team: client, designer, and builder. Through thorough examination of the user’s perspective and lifestyle they are given the substance and direction of a project. Through the tools of form, texture, and flow they are able to express these experiences and create memorable spaces.

About Ana

Ana grew up in Napa Valley before moving down to Southern California to receive her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University. She spent the next few years as an interior designer for WPJ Development before obtaining her Master’s Degree in Architecture. Ana has been given the opportunity to work in all facets of residential design for homes across Hawaii, Nevada, California, and Utah. Through these experiences, she has become versatile in her design as each area has its own unique architectural style.

Ana has focused on “light architecture” and used design to connect people of all ages and from all backgrounds. She found that when natural sunlight is combined with architecture, it can transform one’s daily perspective and frame of mind, ultimately creating socially enjoyable spaces. She also has great interest in environmentally-conscious methods and materials, integrating sustainability as a primary focus in each of her designs.

About Natasha

Natasha was born and raised in Los Angeles, and attended UC Berkeley’s Architecture program, graduating in 2012. During the beginning of her career, she was exposed to the rigorous world of commercial design as well as the attention to detail required by high-end residential projects.

She continued to build her career by working for interior architecture and architecture firms focused on restaurant, bar, hotel, and residential design. Through her experience in hospitality she learned about people’s desire to explore the unexpected, while high-end residential design informed people's yearning to find comfort and separation from the hustle and bustle of the everyday.

Natasha seeks to strengthen her design through endless curiosity of architectural solutions, as well as understanding the backgrounds of users; how they handle and express the many facets of their lives from macro to micro levels. Natasha believes the power of design and architecture can not only provide an artistic reflection of a people’s lives, but also provide emotional spaces allowing them to escape, imagine, and create.
